Welcome to My Blog! Let's build a community for Regulation, Building positive interactions and Developing relationships!

I am so excited to have you here as we focus on building an online community! I want to support you as we explore everyday challenges and common topics... through the lens of a pediatric OT and DIR® expert!

While my new publications,

"The Regulation Plan: Regulation for Positive Child Interactions, Development and Relationships" Resource and Application Guides.

focus on a comprehensive and individualized way to learn about and support regulation, this blog will focus on being a community of understanding and support! In fact, one of the best parts about learning all about reguation is the sense of undertanding and care that we learn to give to others! We understand that regulation is a skill that we ALL use, EACH and EVERY day! We ALL experience regulation challenges and we can ALL get dysregulated sometimes. When we can understand the concept of regulation, we can be more understanding of others when they might lose their regualtion! We can shift our focus from blaming and judging to understanding, caring and being present!

So welcome home to a community that works to understand and support each other through the discussion of everyday topics and challenges we face.

As we dive into this blog, I want to outline what you can expect from our time together. This blog is more than just a collection of posts; it’s a community where we can learn, grow, and inspire one another.

The Purpose of This Blog

The primary goal of this blog is to support YOU, the reader, and the child in your life. As in my regulation guides, in my blog I seek to bring you a new understanding of yourself and the child in your life using my knowledge as a pediatric OT and from the relationship and strengths based model of DIRFloortime®!

Here, you will discover a way of thinking that is supportive and easy to integrate into your everyday life. Yes, you CAN help your child make progress through positive interactions that also strengthen your connection and relationship! Yes you CAN understand and learn to connect with your child! You can even learn more about yourself that supports your relationships and ways of interacting with others!

I want this blog to be a place for YOU. So, I encourage you to engage with the content. Share your thoughts, ask questions, and let’s talk about it!

Speading the Joy!

Thank you for joining me on this adventure! In my almost 20 years as a pediatric OT, I have sought out knowledge and training that I knew would benefit the children and families I work with. When I found DIRfloortime® and I saw the progress and JOY that the approach brought, to myself AND the kids in the therapy gym, I felt so blessed! I continue to practice occupational therapy with a DIR® focus and I am one of the lucky ones because I can say that I LOVE my job. But I wanted to spread the word beyond the clinic too! This grew into "The Regulation Plan" publications, and is now continuing to grow into this blog and online community!

Stay tuned and subscribe for upcoming posts, and feel free to reach out with your thoughts and ideas. Here’s to a wonderful journey ahead!
